L’ecole Daniel Petite - Frere 2021-2022

New students admitted to The Leve Project program

In 2016, a leader by the name of Daniel Petit Frere found an immediate need for access to education in the neighborhood of Limonade located in the Cap Haitien arrondissement. With his knowledge and love for education, this director built a school that would welcome the young minds in the area and provide an opportunity for them to further their education.

Due to economical instability, there has been a steady decline in registered students. While the director has permitted students to return without paying fees, the school cannot maintain its leverage, as the cost of operations prove it difficult to keep the school open.

For secondary school, 169 students were registered to begin to the 2021-2022 school year. Unfortunately, due to constraints, only 33 students were able to afford school fees and return.

The Leve Project partnered with Mak Pa Nou, an organization that makes shoes and also holds workshops for future artisans, to visit the school and see the conditions firsthand.

With great happiness, we found that this school would be a perfect place to begin The Leve Project.

We were able to enroll and provide financial assistance for 27 high school students, between the ages of 16-22 years old, to complete the school year.
